Failure to Thrive

Failure to Thrive / Poor Weight Gain

Babies and children who do not gain weight normally can also have compression of the vagus nerve, the main nerve to the digestive system.

This nerve exits from the back of the head between the occiput and temporal bone and first cervical vertebrae.

Improper nerve function inhibits the stomach, small intestine and colon from absorbing nutrients and excreting digestive enzymes properly.

Children who have compression of the vagus nerve all of their lives can have ongoing digestive issues.  Some of the problem may also be a hereditary pattern that is not allowing absorption of nutrients.  Hereditary patterns can be treated with homeopathy.
