Osteopathy is a gentle, hands-on form of treatment used to alleviate the symptoms of musculo-skeletal pain. It focuses on facilitating the restoration of health back to areas of the body which have been damaged through injury, and poor posture. Osteopathic treatment will aim to diagnose and treat symptomatic areas by maintaining and re-establishing the bio-mechanical relationships between various parts of the body, restoring normal movement and enabling the body to replenish, nourish and repair dysfunctional areas.

Dr. Newlon’s manipulative technique is noninvasive, but direct and effective. No harsh movement is done. ‘Dr Newlon utilizes a method called direct myofascial release. Occasionally she uses a muscles energy technique and a spring recoil technique. She also utilizes the Percussor Hammer, an instrument that Dr. Robert Fulford, mentioned in Dr Weil’s best selling book Spontaneous Healing, developed for use in the Osteopathic field that effectively but gently breaks down old scar tissue. Gross motion of bones, ligaments and muscles is restored, along with the subtle, but very important motion of all the organs and their membranes in the body.

This work improves blood and nerve circulation, promoting tissue healing and speeds recovery of painful areas.
