Osteopathy is a gentle, hands-on form of treatment used to alleviate the symptoms of musculo-skeletal pain. It focuses on facilitating the restoration of health back to areas of the body which have been damaged through injury, and poor posture. Osteopathic treatment will aim to diagnose and treat symptomatic areas by maintaining and re-establishing the bio-mechanical relationships between various parts of the body, restoring normal movement and enabling the body to replenish, nourish and repair dysfunctional areas. This work also improves blood and nerve circulation, promoting tissue healing and speeds recovery of painful areas.
Seniors
Aging is a natural physiological process in life. One part of the body which is greatly affected by the process of aging is the musculoskeletal system. As we get older, the elasticity present within our body deteriorates, which increases the risk of injuring the soft tissues and bony structures of the body. The effects of aging on the body’s structure give rise to symptoms, including:
- Generalized early morning stiffness and reduced mobility
- Lower back pain and stiffness
- Neck, shoulder, arm or hand pain
- Hip, knee and foot pain
- Arthritic pain and joint swelling

When sports injury occurs, it is vital to receive the best treatment and management advice possible. Consistent with “treat the whole person” philosophy, Dr. Newlon not only treats the actual muscle strain or ligament sprain but also diagnoses and treats the overall body imbalance which may have resulted in the injury occurring in the first instance, or may have occurred in response to the injury.
A tailored stretching and strengthening program is also suggested, enabling a return to your chosen sport as quickly as possible.
